About the Yoga Retreat
The idea of the Yoga retreat is to leave the ordinary life for a little while and to be in the company of people who share the same interest. Doing what we love is nourishing and refreshing. Making time for ourselves we can return to living from the inside out because we are less occupied with the chores that life normally dictates. We will practice the yogic lifestyle on and off the mat.
Location and Accommodation
Finally, we have found a place where yoga and nature merge into one. It’s in the Blue Mountains near Mount Victoria. The Yoga retreat is set up in an eco-friendly way in beautiful bush gardens. It has solar power and uses rain water only. The property is surrounded by trees and mountains. There is a very special vibe which you feel immediately when you set foot in the amazing gardens.
We will be spoiled with luscious vegetarian food which is prepared from the freshest ingredients by our two hosts.
If you decide to come by train, a shuttle pickup service can be arranged from Mount Victoria station.
After arrival on Friday from 2 pm onwards, we will settle in and then ease into our first yoga session on Friday from 4 to 6 pm. A joint dinner at 7 pm will conclude the evening.
Saturday will begin with one hour of pranayama followed by breakfast at 8:30. Then, we will be guided on a bush walk before doing some restorative practice followed by lunch. After lunch you will have some spare time. From 4 to 6 pm we will practice asanas and again have dinner at 7 pm followed by rest.
We will start Sunday with pranayama at 7:30 again and take some light refreshments at 8:30 because we will practice asanas from 9 to 11 am. From 11 am on we will have a big brunch. Our retreat concludes at 2 pm on Sunday when everybody can make their own way back home. On the three days Franziska will be guiding through the yoga practice.
The retreat is suitable for students with a minimum of 6 months of Iyengar Yoga practice.
Feel free to walk in the natural beauty and simplicity of the spacious gardens and enjoy time just to be. Additionally, bring a book and enjoy it on the balcony overlooking pristine wilderness bushland. Alternatively, watch the frogs in the bush ponds or take a dip yourself in the solar powered hot tub.
